What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

A good indictment of our education system....

Midnight Train to a Place Where Correct Spelling is Valued
Gladys Knight & the Pips (now with 60% more pippiness)

Baking proved too much for the man
(Too much for the man,) he couldn't bake it
So he's leavin' the life he's come to know
He said he's goin'
(He said he's goin' back to find)
Goin' back to find
Ooh ooh, what's left of his pride
The pride he left behind
Not so long ago

He's leavin' (leavin')
On that midnight trainin to trade school
(Leavin' on the midnight trainin)
Said he's goin' there
Goin' there to find
A job that’s not a crime
(Oh yes he is, he said he would)

I won’t be with him (I’m sure you won’t)
On that midnight trainin to trade school (leavin' on the midnight trainin. Woo Woo)
I think I’ll date a teacher
Someone with spelling that’s fine

All aboard…

Speedily heading back to the pre-Webster days, when there was no regard for spelling (or grammar) as long as the message was "clear".

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterPam B

It explains so much.

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterCarol

Oh SuBee! I believe you've outdone yourself. Bravo!

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterMaryO1230

I think the more frightening thing is that when I googled 'tranined' (cuz I do stuff like that), I came up with a lot of hits from various headlines, advertisements, etc.

I want to be the editor for the English speaking world.

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterKimS

Wooooooow. What more can be said??

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterakathleen

1) BRAVO, SueBee!

2) Gives a whole new meaning to, "Here's your sign..."

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

Direct quote from Queen Victoria: "We is NOT amoozed."

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAddie

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterRikki

Oh, SuBee! You're lucky that I like that old song - a LOT- or I might have to come over there and ...uuhh...well, I guess do nothing! But I'll have it in my head all night, and probably youtube it and get tired of it, all because of this sickalicious site. Life isn't always a bowl of cherries; sometimes it's barf bag full of wrecks. At least I TRANINED myself not to drink anything while writing...=^-.-^=

I was expecting "cake decorators"

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered Commentershannon

Verbatim transcriptionst goofing off here. Whatever. Like, you know, like, what I mean, like, saying. Ouch.

Latest word discoverd just 10 minutes ago: "parawell" vision, you know, that vision you can't see for those parking lot incidents where you think you see something moving but tell yourself it's not there. And besides, your rear view backing sensor hasn't gone off yet so that moving car isn't.

Makes me want to start an ESL class......for Americans! Lol

July 28, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterRachel

Yay so there's no experience required!

(What? Somebody had to say it)

July 29, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterNathan R.

@TriciaL, so "ability to spell correctly" isn't one of their prerequisites? ;)

July 29, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterjuice

@juice, I'll put spelling in the "attention to detail" category.
