What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Bahahaha, that was hilarious! Merry Christmas Jen and John!

December 23, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnne

I really hope you'll be posting sweet Christmas cakes soon, maybe Friday if you'll take Christmas day off. My eyes/mind/heart need something to replace days of Christmas wrecks!

December 23, 2016 | Unregistered Commentervjh

Words fail me - and THAT doesn't happen very often. I could write an essay about the kindergarten Christmas tree, the reindeer fails, and the vaguely obscene Santa. And we won't even mention the Chirtmas jelly fish.

Yeesh!

#3 is the Chirtmas worm sisters, crawling forth from their strawberry on Chirtmas eve to spread good cheer.

Lady Anne, my first thought on seeing the blobby thing was 'somebody yarn bombed a jellyfish'! Or maybe it's a new superhero - Super Strawberry and some ne'er-do-well is feeling the wrath of it's laservision?
Happy Holidays to all, but especially to our dedicated bloggers who help start my days with a smile... or a cringe.... and occasionally a whimper.

The strawberry thing is a dreaded. Turned sideways. The blue things are the outline of the handle, I think....

December 23, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterJamie

Brilliant!

For you, Jen and John, I submit this lovely bit of parodic prose.

On the Twelfth Day of Wreckmas
Cake Wrecks gave to me
Twelve blobby Santas
Eleven melting snowmen
Ten dyspeptic reindeer
Nine carrot jockeys
Eight with no sprinkles (WHY???)
Seven spermlike balloons
Six spray-tanned man abs
Fiiiiiive cupcake cakes (ptui!)
Four under neat that
Three Congradations
Two mangled flags
And a year chock full of wrecky cheer!

Happy holidays. :)

December 23, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterKai Lowell

Oooo, demonic Rudolph choco candy apples! This cries out for a SuBee song, or perhaps a recipe project for Rudolph the Dalek candy pears -- "Mommy, somebody made choklit blobs with the sticks stuck in sideways".
