The "o" on cake #2 looks a little bit like an "a" - kicking the cake habit - never going to happen.

Its the Queen and King M&M. They live at the factory and the candy is her eggs.
My take on the M&M ones: at least to me, they look like really racist caricatures of Asian and Black people, respectively. I sincerely *doubt* that was the decorator’s intention (and HOPE it wasn’t), but...the one on the left is frosted yellow and has slanted eyes (I think the decorator was trying to show eyeliner, but it didn’t come out well). The one on the right is frosted in a darker colour and has kind of “googly” eyes and the white icing around the mouth sort of makes it look like the face has thick, lighter-coloured lips.
Both these depictions were super common in the U.S. for quite a while for these two specific groups of people; I’m not going to link to any images for reasons that should be obvious, but just google it. Or heck, look up Wonder Woman’s Silver Age villian “Egg Fu” or some of the early black-and-white Looney Toons cartoons.
Is the "joke" with the two cookies that the smaller one is in blueface? Or that Yellow M&M has had a gender reassignment? Both, maybe? I dunno.
The eyes on the yellow M&M cookie seem a bit...slanted.
I am confused at the m and m one lol the cakes either blinded me or killed my brain but I am not seeing something.. lol.
You know how people who eat too many carrots can turn orange, and flamingoes who eat too many shrimp turn pink? Well, cakes who eat too many blue M&Ms turn blue, and cakes who eat too many yellow M&Ms turn yellow. And because they *like* M&Ms, they're both saying "mmm", as in "yum" with their mouths full. Those packets behind them are all empty.
Yellow cake is staring at us to say "Back off, all the M&Ms are MINE!" Blue cake is getting groggy from the sugar high, possibly about to pass out.
There, explained. Except for liking M&Ms, I guess that's just a thing cakes do, I see a lot of them with M&Ms on their faces.
So, first, there's the issue with the one M&M bag being upside-down but that could just be because someone changed their mind and dumped it hurriedly onto the table. Second, despite that I actually jokingly call them "M, M, Ms" myself, this candy's name is actually "M&Ms". I guess we should just be grateful the wreckors didn't write "Eminem" on the cakes(?)...or is that just frosting in a plastic case of emotion?
The blue M&M cookie has NO M&Ms on it. Looking suspiciously like blackface is just the icing on the... well, you know.
Well, see, a lot of people call M&Ms, M n Ms, and a lot of people (maybe the same group) don't know the difference between a cursive m and a cursive n. So, it says, "M n M." Though, that doesn't explain why they made a yellow Cassandra. Come to think of it, that left hand pineapple looks like a Cassandra face too.
The M&M cookies are surrounded by Peanut M&M bags yet the yellow cookie is covered in plain M&M candies whose bags are nowhere in sight. At first glance I thought the yellow cookie was decorated with Skittles or Reese's Pieces (wrong colors for those though).
The blue cookie is apt to be labeled as racist if you place a face upon it just because it is the darker of the two. Does this mean you can never use a blue hued cookie for decoration without being labeled as having intentionally used blackface? I think as a nation we're above that. It happens to be blue and it happens to have a face drawn upon it. Infer from that as you wish but what you extract tells more about you and your thought process (and underlying guilt and suppressed resentment) than you realize.
The yellow cookie's eyes look Egyptian, vaguely capturing a nod to Cleopatra. Egypt is a country, Egyptian is not a race: no harm, no foul.

There is a bag upside down depicting W&Ws which I often ate when hanging from monkey bars on the school playground. "Hey look guys, W&W's!" That joke never gets old. .

@Bill C: I respect your opinion and I’d agree with you *IF* the faces on the two cookies were switched. As they are, they fit U.S.ian racial stereotypes a little too perfectly. Again, I hope that wasn’t the baker’s intention and hope it was unconsciously done. But when I see a representation of a face with yellow skin and slanted eyes, I am going to think racist Asian caricature, because those are the two main features of those types of representations, especially around WWII after Pearl Harbour. When I see a representation of a dark-skinned face with googly eyes and big, lighter-skinned lips, I’m going to think racist Black caricature, because those are the main features of racist representations from the early days of the U.S. until now (look up some of the cartoons published when Obama was president).
In other words, if it has feathers, and quacks, and swims, and tastes wonderful with orange sauce...I’m going to come to the conclusion it’s a duck, not a fish or a cow.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not blaming the decorator here unless I know for sure that was their intent, which I don’t. I think this may be an example of how certain imagery has pervaded the U.S. consciousness. Yet intent doesn’t overrule effect.
In terms of what it says about me that I see that...well, I am white. Like, so white that I practically glow in the dark. Do I have “guilt” about that? I don’t think so, but I try to be aware of my “white privilege” and aware that what is innocuous to me may be very hurtful to other people. I have a bunch of Black and Asian students who have said they get very offended and hurt by the stereotypes they continue to see all around them, which persist even in 2018. Their relatives had to deal with generations of that kind of representation, and they are angry that they are still dealing with it. Since I *do* have privilege in the U.S., I try to educate myself about how I can use that privilege to recognize injustice and try to make things better for everyone.
Also, BTW, the historical Cleopatra would have had brown skin. No offence, but if that first cookie was frosted with light brown icing, I’d be more inclined to agree. As I said, I think the conscious intention may have been to portray the popular “winged” eyeliner but it went horribly wrong.
(I’m sorry for getting so political here. This is something about which I feel strongly.)

In the commercials, the yellow peanut M&M is male, and the green is female. Is there a blue one? Idk. But maybe that's the issue? Other than the three Ms (?) and the horrific faces...
The blue m&m is a blue paper plate with a yellow border piped around it. What we are not talking about is where the actual blue m&m went, which is as mysterious as where the 1st alex went from cake two on this page. The m&m's are not racists. One of them isn't even an m&m!! And yellow doesn't mean Asian, nor does blue denote African. If they wanted to make a racist display, they would have used the brown m&m and the yellow m&m wouldn't have blue eyes. There is clearly zero racism involved in these cookie cakes and candies. None. Zilch. I can't believe I'm analyzing this. I need to get more sleep.
