But Where are the Blue Birds?
So Dawn W. was throwing a Wizard of Oz cast party, and she knew better than to order anything as complicated as a Yellow Brick Road cake. So instead, she simply asked for a cake with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on it.
Now, if you've read this blog for any time at all, then you're probably expecting the same thing I was - an inscription that looks like this:
"Some Wear"
The Rainbow
I'm pleased to report that's NOT what happened. No, Dawn received something far more...colorful.
At first I thought the decorator was just being clever, but then I noticed the "Somewheres".
Yeah.
Well, there went that theory.

Never, never, never underestimate . . .
Now I really want that as a t-shirt. But maybe in pretty and without the spelling mistake...
Lol lol lol
Oh, that would make a great T-shirt! Assuming the spelling error was fixed, and actual rainbows colors were used, that is. I'd love to have one!
With my failing eyesight I thought the last letter was an o. So somewhereo
I was also reading it as "somewhereo". As in, somewhereo the rainbow.
A rare case of the wreck being clever and more attractive than what was ordered. If not for the awkward extra S (and poor writing) this would be a very appealing wreck.
I just keep hearing in my head "Boss, whaddaya want me to put on this cake?" "She said 'somewheres over the rainbow', didn't she? Put 'somewheres' over a rainbow! Geesh, do I gotta do ALL the thinking 'round here? Use poiple, too--dames like dat. And don't call me 'Boss'." "Sorry, Bugsy."
Guess those gangsters are working all year round, now. (See "When Gangsters Go PC" for backstory.)
And what happens when you run Somewhere Over the Rainbow through Google Translate a dozen or so times?
That's got "F*ck it, my shift is over. I"m going home." written all over it.
Why is it so hard to get the colors of the rainbow right???
Am I the only one that saw SomeWHORES?
They probably figured close enough and hoped the customer wouldn't notice lol.
It's. Not. Even. A. RAINBOW.
Oh my goodness... I always love mistake cakes as this one is. Sometimes communication is not clear and a client will receive something completely unwanted. Sometimes it is funny to see these photos, though. Clear communication is always key!
