What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Ermergerd Tirgers!!

It's International Cat Day, so let's celebrate John's favorite animal EVER:

TIEGERS!!

Wait, no, I mean:

TIRGERS!!

(ERMERGHERD!)

You know, the things that can sit(?) on their own heads?

("This feels grrrrrREAT!")

And have three jaws, tentacles, and 'uge, pointy teeth?

IT'S A TIGER!

(Helpful label is helpful.)

So happy Cat Day, everyone, and remember:

o.0

Thanks to Brandi H., Kate S., Heather A., Taylor G., & Tiffany T. for keeping it catty.

Pul-eeese! #3 is obviously the Grand High Exalted Poo-bah of the Knights of the Terrible Tigger wearing his turban of office with the little Tigger ears on top. (They are known for their charity work, you know)

The second baker left the poo-wang mascot off...that is the problem...

Wait, you haven't heard of them? The Turgid Tirgers??!?

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterMedith

I like the third one best. It looks the most like a tiger (And no spelling to mess up! ^^)

My poor Norman. I have been putting cinnamon on his Cat Chow, and should have been using pepper. Dopey me! This is as helpful as the Facebook post that told me vaping was bad for my cat. I never could get them to tell me whether it was better to wean him off the e-cigs or make him go cold turkey.

Somehow I find number 3 a Wreck but a cute Wreck.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterjane lewis

I don't know if that Pepper/Cinnamon thing is true. I should see if I can get the folks at Big Cat Rescue to answer that. ;)

What? You mean you don't find that advice super helpful? my pet tiger doesn't enjoy his steak tartare without a light sprinkling of cayenne pepper flakes.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterZeenia

Don't tell anyone at SyFy about the TigerSquid. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, JUST DON'T.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

...Oh, and the wreckerator gets extra bonus points on the first cake for putting "Tiegers" directly above a little flag with the word spelled correctly RIGHT ON IT.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

The wonderful thing about tiegers
Is Tirgers are wonderful things
Their tops can balance their bottoms
Though cinnamon's not their thing

They're misspelled, sloppy, somewhat gloppy
I wish these cakes were gone!
The only acceptable thing about tiegers
Is they are loved by John.

Yes, they are loved by John...

@Badkarma, they already made a movie in which a there was a octopus/shark hybrid, so a movie with a shark/tiger hybrid would not be much of a stretch for them O_o I do not think these people know what a tiger is. As for the last cake ORIGINAL HANGOVER FTW!!

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered Commentermindy1

Well, tiger's (sic) may hate "Cinnamann" but they obviously like sprinkles.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterLady Anne

I think I caught #4 a couple of days ago while playing Pokemon.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterFont Lady

^^SuBee! LOL!!

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterGeomops

Well, today's Wreckerators look like they didn't even try. Even the weird cinnamon vs. pepper thing is spelled correctly. Bakers should be required to earn a "Punctuation Usage License" before being unleashed on poor, innocent cakes.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBluebonnet

No, that really isn't a tiger.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterR3test

A short digression from the tigers - tiegers - tirgers theme ...

I didn't recognize "ERMERGHERD" so I googled it. Google not only displayed all the images for that meme it even corrected my spelling. :-) "Showing results for ERMAHGERD"

The only saving grace for the first one is that it's a LSU cake. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterLSUJacq

On the first picture where they misspelled tiger if you look there is a plastic banner with the word TIGER on it!!! So much for being observant.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterCraftyparrott

Helpful label is helpful. I spit out my potato chips there.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterPamtha

It was kind of the Hoopy 28th Andy to tell us about the Tiger's love of pepper, but their hatred of
Cinnan-squootch!

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterShirley

Love the ending graphic!!! Perfect!

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterKala

That last one is OBVIOUSLY referring to Andy's new favorite stripper. (First husband shared his hard-earned (tee-hee!) knowledge of strippers; so many share names with common baking ingredients)
Geaux Tigers! = priceless. (Laughing with delight)

Am I seriously the only one wondering what HOOS are? (second cake)

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterDebbie H

Oh good. A creepy tiger spider. Because we don't have enough creepy spiders in the world, I need a new one to cause more nightmares. Awesome.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterSusan

Just think of tiegers as the French pronunciation of tiger and it makes sense - so maybe the bakers/decorators were French Canadian, eh?

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterKyle

Tigers do yoga - who knew?

Cake #4 doesn't look like a tiger, but it does look like what you might get if a tiger bred with either a Predator, or an Alien face-hugger.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterdr handle

No. No, that is NOT a tiger! I don't know what it is, but it looks like some weirdly colored tarantula with missing legs.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterRoxy Random

The only thing I look forward to more than the posts themselves are SuBee's comments!!! Always taking it to a whole new level! :)

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterLuLu

Cake #2 was likely ordered by a University of Virginia fan.

August 8, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterChrissy

Oh man that "tiger" reminds me of the Rathars in The Force Awakens lol. Running away is best if someone gets that thing for a cake.. eek.

August 9, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

Okay the tiger pepper cinnamon quote sounded strangely familiar. Thanks to Google for helping my memory. It's from The Hangover!

Odd that the CCC (ptooiie!) is arguably the best one.

August 9, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterNobodee Home

So that website for the rainbow cake has now changed the cake... the description still says it is 4 layers but the photo shows 6 layers. And the description says the top is covered in skittles which it isn't in the picture. I'm thinking if you order the rainbow cake from there, it is just a craps shoot on what you might receive!! It will in some form or fashion be rainbow-like, but that's about it!

And for the person who asked about the Hoos... that is University of Virginia.

August 9, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnn

Mostly what makes me laugh is not so much the cakes, but the whitty commentary that accompanies said cakes. Love you guys!

August 9, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterSarah

Thank goodness they labeled #4! If they hadn't, I would have thought it was an orange, spotted spider. 0.O

August 9, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterKerisa

The cinnamon/pepper one is from the Hangover
