What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Lookin' For Some Bunny To Love

♫ Can anybody find meeeeeee... ♪

Some bunny to love?

Ooh, each new cake I see I die a little

("Ow.")

Can barely stand on my feet!

[*crash!*]

Take a look in the display case

...and cry.
(And cry!)

Bakers, what you're doing to me

I have spent all these years in "believing" you

But I just can't get decent Sweets... in-stoooore!!

Some bunny,

(Any bunny!)

Ooh, some bunny

(She's desperate!)

Can anybody find meeee

some bunny to love?

Thanks to Kimberly S., Mary D., Elisabeth A., Chelsea P., Charlotte C., Violetta S., Sarah H., Emily R., Leah F., & Lynn B. for the big ol, "NO, WE CAN'T, JEN." I, uh, still appreciate the effort.

Cake #4 kind of looks like Freddy Mercury, may he rest in peace...

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterSuBee

I think the third one is looking slightly "sheepish", but otherwise… AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

(And, are the ninth ones escapees from a lagamorph Oompah band?)

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterShirley

Hilarious version of my favorite Queen song. Thanks, you made my day.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered Commentererin

I think the third cake is supposed to be a lamb. Yes? No?

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterCathy

Sorry; Lagomorph.
(Don't you hate vowels in English? There are so many different pronunciations for each one. Spanish is so much easier.)

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterShirley

I almost wish Easter would last all year- this has been a superb week at CakeWrecks. Thank you, thank you, you! Oh mama Mia, mama mia. The splayed lamb!!! Sacrificed to atone for the sins of whatever that misbegotten spawn of Satan as represented by that second "cake" ( maybe it's just a container of workstation scrapings? Can't guess.) I can't stop laughing.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered Commenters.marie

Sang the whole post... out loud, using my brush as a microphone.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterDegera

Now that song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day, lol.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterMisti

OMG! OMG! I have NEVER seen such a plethora of bunny cake wrecks in my life. Never. Ever. They are.... stupendous in their awful-ness. Amazing what wreckoraters deem acceptable! ROTFLMAO! Thanks for this!

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterMaryO1230

I love how in the next-to-last picture the white bunny's face is smashed up against the side of the plastic lid. "HELP LET ME OUT OF HEEEEEEEEEERE!"

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

I think...number 3 is a lamb. Not entirely certain.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterZephyr Mac

You could almost pretend the 4th bunny is the Wererabbit (or else that other little bunny who was half turned into Wallace...)

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterHAL

Wiping tears of laughter- love the lamb! love the bunnies! love the mash-up- best tribute band version evah!

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered Commentermsanthrope

Number 3 is actually a lamb-o-god roadkill.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterJohn Dash

@ John Dash BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Was it a hired roadkill??? <snort>

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterVaBeach alemaP

This is your best song post evah! Find meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, somebunny to chomp! I will be singing that all day.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterVixx

After all that, I had to Google "bunny" just to make sure they really look like what I thought they looked like.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAl the K

Laughing madly until the last bunny. Is that pink duct tape across the mouth underneath eyes bugging out in sheer terror? "Happy Easter" indeed.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBluebonnet

The top bunny in picture 9 looks a bit like a white version of the "Vampire Rabbit" carved on a building in Newcastle

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterToonfan69

The last cake, 29.99 oh my no....NO

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterGoodrich

The White and Purple Bunny Assassin Squad in the second-to-last photo will haunt my dreams tonight... And many nights to come...

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

These are to bunnies what I am to Gwyneth Paltrow. We both sort of have the same features but not in the same arrangements.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterFM

The last cake looks like a Blue Meanie disguised as a bunny.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnalee

OMG, lagamorph oompah, I've got to add that to my list of incomprehensible insults!

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAdo_Annie

The seventh bunny.... It honestly looks like someone chopped its ears off and there they are lying on the ground. Its front feet appear to be ON the ears. Maybe I'm just really tired. Surely no one would chop a bunny's ears off.

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterGinger

And in this corner Team B will be debating with a pro-vivisection stance, using a series of unfortunate creatures they found at a bakery to illustrate their point... "Think how much we could learn by slicing open the one with severe gum disease!" (Exhibit #4)

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterNaughty Nautilus

@Ginger - that's exactly what I thought!

Great Frith on a cow, these are terrible! (But still hilariously funny!)

Loved the song. =-)

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterSeabird

Every time I try to sing that I'm reminded that Freddie was a god. Now I will also remember these... erm... "bunnies"...

March 24, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterL

Oh let the Easter nightmare cakes begin.. next it is gonna be scary lamb cakes isn't it? I just know it lol and am dreading it. Nightmares be a comin lol.

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

Does that last bunny have a bacon mouth?

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterGina

I'm not the only person who sang that all the way through, am I? Am I? Oh, it's just me then...

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered Commenterdr handle

Ok, I'm hoping the Sunday Sweets will be loveable bunnies now. But they're going to have to be *REALLY ADORABLE* to make up for these atrocities! (And I'm Australian, so all rabbits are either evil or food...)

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAA

Huzzah for a Queen-based post! \o/

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAmedyr

Who else had to go back and look at the pictures because they were too busy singing along with the commentary???

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnother Jen

I gasped in horror at the last "bunny". Is that bacon on its face???

March 25, 2016 | Unregistered Commenternanalettie

Number 7 is at least kinda of "cutely ugly". The rest of these are just plain ol' "ugly ugly". Bleh.

March 26, 2016 | Unregistered Commenteremeraldosprey

Now I've got an ear-worm, but in a good way. Waiting for the killer rabbit from the Holy Grail to turn up next. Thanks for making me smile til my face hurts!
Happy Easter everyone.
