What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Sunday Sweets: More Star Wars!

With the future of Star Wars looking better than it has in, lessee, when did Episode 1 come out, again? [evil grin] Well, anyway, it is definitely time to celebrate!

And when it comes to Star Wars, you just can't get any more classic than this kickin' Millenium Falcon cake:

"She may not look like cake, but she's got icing where it counts."

Or how about Luke's (edible!) X-wing crash-landed on a cakey Dagobah, complete with dry-ice smoke effects?

(By Luscious Layers Bakery)

WOW.

Of course you can't have Dagobah without everyone's favorite pint-sized Jedi Master:

Yoda!

I admit it: I'm still a sucker for Ewoks.

(Also by The Butter End Cakery)

Now who's eating who, huh?

Although I find most fans these days prefer a certain bounty hunter:

He's no good to me stale.

Let's all give a hearty "UTINI!" for this incredible Jawa:

And I'm sorry; I couldn't resist:

Hee!

Can't decide on a single bad guy for your cake?
Why not combine three of 'em, like this?

(By Nichi Cakes)

Super cool.

On the other hand, does it get any cuter than R2-D2 in a bow tie?

(By Gateaux Inc.)

I think not.

Ahh, but I'm afraid R2 has some SERIOUS new competition in the "adorable droid" category.

That's right, roll on out here, BB8!

(By Cake Rush)

SQUEEE!

Can't wait to see this little guy in action in the new movie.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Love these! And it reminds me that Avalon Yarnes just posted an awesome [pair of] Star Wars cakes a day or two ago.

That was a fantastic post! Thanks for sharing all those wonderful desserts. I was 11 when Star Wars premiered, and I'll never forget how exciting it was. The story, the special effects, the vehicles and ships! WOW! It was all so astonishing and exciting! I remember when ST:RoTJ premiered because it was outrageous that we were expected to fork over an extra seventy-five cents to see it ($4.50). LOL!! Happy May the Fourth, people!

Me: I love you Cakewrecks!
Jen: I know.

So long, Cakewrecks. You were doing so well until you went with the prequel bashing. I'm a fan of the whole SAGA and there are more of us out there than you might think.

[Editor's note- I'm sorry to see you go. I'm sorry that one harmless, throwaway line in one post on one Sunday has caused you to judge this funny cake site as unworthy of further visits. Of my many, many diehard Star Wars fan friends, I've never met one who didn't poke fun occasionally at the prequels, who couldn't chuckle at Jar Jar Binks or scoff at George's occasional overuse of CGI. But if this was the last straw for you, I understand. Jen and I are just here to make you smile and I would hate to think I ruined your night with my thoughtless mockery. Have a pleasant night and best of luck to you. -john (of Jen, the hubby)]

And may the 4th be with you all today. Although perhaps lazypadawan should have thought about pleading the 5th before they posted.

If you can' take a little tech humor then perhaps this site is not for you.

Good thing.. I'm sure the Darth vs Disney Princess cakes (on May the Fourth) would have made lazypadawan even more upset.
More cake for us! Remember... THE CAKE IS A LIE! :)
