What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Watch Your Back, Frosty

The rest of the story is overrated. These seasonal snippets will do.

In a twist of festive irony, Santa later shot his own eye out.

Naturally, all Ralph Lauren cookie covers had to undergo a little "retouching."

Donner blamed Dasher, and Dasher blamed Vixen, but one thing was certain: they would never use the phrase "flipping his lid" again without wincing.

Their escape depended on luck, daring, and the fact that their snowy jailors had no arms.

To be fair, the woman never specified which part of the word to replace with an X.

So he bided his time, knowing someday, somehow, that smug self-satisfied snowman would pay.

Those snowman cupcakes are SO creepy! I can imagine getting up in the middle of the night and heading to the kitchen for something, and seeing them all in a row . . . . AAAAAAACK!!! (Kermit flail)

That "flipping his lid" cake is nightmare-inducing. I don't need to see Santa's brain matter, bakers!

Merry Christmax Eve Eve to all my Cakewrecks friends!

Aren't all snowmen smug and self satisfied. Little do they know that global warming is real...

Ralph Lauren cookie covers?
I... don't get it.

I know, I know - I'm getting old... but the most horrifying things to me on this page are the snowman cupcakes and the GIANT GLOBS of frosting. I feel like I should send my dentist a check just looking at them. (Why, WHY is there this trend for more frosting than cake?? It's gross!) Also, that third one, "flipping lid Santa"? Definitely looks like one of the reindeer got inappropriate when he wasn't looking...

The far side of the wrecks are my favorite! And the plotting revenge one is my favorite of this set.

I kind of like the snowman cupcakes, they're actually rather well done, obviously not by the same person who decorated the jumping Santa cake. Wait... are the snowmen's hats... plastic baby-bottle lids? Yes, Yes they are... hmmm.... >.>

Well Frosty is about to die from that look on Santa lol. Poor thing. These cakes are hilarious!

I also don't get the Ralph Lauren thing. Maybe I'm not brand-savvy enough.
