[*Apparently those are ponytails. Which I guess makes a LITTLE more sense than doggie ears. ;)]

I'm almost positive that the last cake was made by someone for the 2013 Washington State Sugar Artists Show. I messaged the person I think made it. Hopefully she'll come on and claim it!
Came here to say toddler ponytails as well, so I'll second Melanie E.'s post.
Not doggie ears. The cake is for a little girl, that astronaut is her, with her pigtails sticking out.
I have also always seen Reagan's "doggie ears" as little girl pigtails. ADORABLE either way. :)
Cakes number 2, 5, and 11 each need a little TARDIS and they'd be perfect.

That last cake is the best use of the topsy turvy style that I have ever seen, hands down! Love it!
The alien on the right at the bottom of the last cake is holding a teeny ice cream cone! Ack, how adorable! What a gorgeous collection of cakes. And I cannot BELIEVE it was 45 years ago that I sat there (as a teenager) watching Neil step fuzzily onto the moon on our black-and-white TV. Where does the time fly to so fast, anyway?
Love all the cakes, makes me want to face my fear of death by suffocation and having my insides burst out... oh who am i kidding, i'd rather just eat space-themed cake! However, in my house, growing up, those were doggie ears. A pony tail was one in the back. Doggie ears were one on each side and pigtails were one braid on each side. Although now that i'm a "grown up" when i see little girls with cute, short doggie ears, i think of wing nuts. Either way, so adorable (especially since in 0 gravity, they'd probably stick up like horns)!

How or earth did they do that last cake? That will keep me up all night trying to figure it out.
The last cake was NOT made by the person being given credit. It was made by Erin Eason, who is a friend of ours. She did make it for the 2013 WA state Sugar Artists Show, and actually worked on part of it at our shop. Please change the credit. She worked really hard on that cake and CJ whoeversoever should not be taking credit for someone else's work.

I love that last cake. Every bit of it is amazing!
BTW, when I was little and my mom put my hair in twin side ponytails we always called them "dog ears" instead of pony tails because that is what they look like...dog ears.

Each one of these cakes is even more amazing than the last. The Earth and Jupiter cakes are so cool and I am in awe of the airbrushing skills of whomever decorated that galaxy cake. I adore galaxy print on anything but I never would have thought to look for it on a cake before. ^_^
When my girls were little, we called that kind of pony tails 'doggie ears', so it made sense to me either way! ;-)
