A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.
Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Roh-ruh, gang, time to
get out the ole rubber sheets.
Scooby's had too much.
If there's something strange, in your bakery
Who you gonna call?
Clonebusters!!!
If there's something weird,and it don't look good
Who you gonna call?
Clonebusters!!!
or
Scooby-Dooby-Doo
Bad dog, you
You've got some work to do now
Heathcliff-Scooby clone
Needs a home
And child support from you now.
As Hamlet said:
The cat will spew, and Scooby will decay.
...I honestly think it's a really bad interpretation of the stump at the end of the Giving Tree story with anthropomorphic features. At least that is less scary than the idea that Scooby and Garfield somehow had a child...
...And the baker would have got away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddlin' Cakewrecks!
You missed the giraffe component...
Hey Scooby -- who ya gonna call??
Cake wrecks, cake wrecks, no one should
terrify your childhood...
@GingerSnap: bravo
Not Garfield. It be Heathcliff. There's a huge difference. HUGE. Okay, a difference of indeterminate size. Don't ask me what it is; I don't care--don't really like either of them.
=^~.~^=
Surely you could have found ONE cartoon giraffe for the second picture...
And the award for best comment of the day goes to GingerSnap! Well played.
Even the baker was ashamed of this one; you can tell because he/she left off Scoocliff's tag for plausible deniability.
An illustration from one of the most terrifying stories never written: The Bakery of Dr. Moreau.
"My most bizarre creation required a cartoon giraffe, but I despaired of finding one until I remembered Geoffrey, the Toys-R-Us
corporate shillmascot. I fused him with clones of Heathcliff and Scooby Doo (so as to avoid copyright infringement) to create...this."If only you could have dramatic music in print. Guess I'll just have to improvise: Dun Dun Duuunnn!
Back in the dark ages when I was in school I had a Heathcliff lunchbox. @sending, you're right, there's a difference.
Poor Scooby apparently has a glandular condition O.O
I would have gone with Marmaduke.
@GingerSnap for the win!
Too funny. Also funny that there was a photo of Scooby Doo just above this in my FB feed. ;)
Scooby doobie
Meh, looks more like a cross between Scrappy-Doo (patooie!) and Cousin It to me.
Poor Scooby
Scooby Doo Where are you?
The wreckerator gave Scooby stripes instead of spots... so dang weird. And if you squint your eyes a little, it's as if Scooby is just wearing his collar low low down.... almost as a belt? Like he's attempting "sagging" maybe? I don't know. Awful though.
Look, I can almost go with that "dog" pretending to be "Scooby," and I can almost pretend to go with the "Heathcliff" pretending to be Garfield (even with eyes that aren't anywhere near as jaded-looking as Garfield's usually are), but I just can't make any sense of the cloud-tongue. So, what the unhealthiness is UP with the white-cloud TONGUE? Oops--hold that; I'm getting a bulletin: THIS JUST IN: Please disregard the preceding words. Sender has decided that she "really doesn't give a flying...er, squirrel".
=^-.-^=
Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you?
They've wrecked up the cake now
Scooby Dooby Doo, we can't find you
They need some help from you now.
(Hey, there's gotta be SOME advantages to having to listen endlessly to the shows your offspring adores.)
IF that blue thing is supposed to be a "collar": FAIL!-because it's down around where the SHOULDERS would be....if it HAD shoulders. And IF the things that look like black worms are supposed to be something other than black worms: FAIL!-because they totally don't look like anything else. And, for what it's worth (in play money) those ears look more like what comes on an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier than a Dane. :-P
=^-.-^=
"Blaise"? Really?!
@GingerSnap
You officially win the internet today. Well done!
CRAZY, thy name is YouTube. I just YT'd "dogs and cats" and guess who popped up, all hot and bothered about ...oh, something to do with "mass hysteria"...=^~.~^= heh heh...
@SaraCVT: "Scoocliff" is perfect! It has such "Wuthering Heights"-flavor to it... I WANTED to write "Bronte-esque," but I can't find the diaeresis-thingy on my keyboard~it doesn't have fancy stuff like that. Which is okay with me; I think "diaeresis" sounds like a medical emergency. So I didn't, even if it looks kinda like I did...
=^-.-^=
Yes! Love that quote. Perfect for this cake. What an excellent combination of the two critters. Maybe the purchaser of the cake didn't think it was so great; but great for Wrecky readers!
Scooby Dooby Dog,
In a blog
(It's not as if we care, now.)
Come on, dopey dog
You're in a fog-
And now you're on a cake-(HOW?)
=^0.o^=
@sendingtheclowns - those lyrics = WIN
Jen- once again, you rule the interwebs with your mastery of Ghostbusters. Literally LOLed. Thanks so much for being you!
