A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.
Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

We've seen this before, have we not? (And you totally got that balance line from me, last time. S'okay, you can have it. Just sayin'.)
[Editor's note- Yup. Needed a day off but we have a new, super funny post tomorrow. And if I recall correctly, last time you said, "Swim or not swim. There is no float." Which is still pretty awesome. john (thoJ)]
Darth Vader on a rubber float on a lake? The theme for this eludes me.
LOL!! May the Force be with you!
(crossing the streams alert) And...... Live Long and Prosper
So Darth Vader isn't allowed to have some hot fun in the summertime?
My son and my niece when they were like 6 would speak in their secret language... made up of squeeks... maybe they could translate. I agree though with Margaret... the theme eludes me too.
"All right, gentlemen, I want a clean fight here."
Oldie but a goodie XD
OK, I laughed harder at this than I have at anything in a long time.
Is it wrong that I would've been thrilled to get this cake?
I think this scenario would be even more awesome when combined with a… SHARKNADO!
Lightsabers > chainsaws
Marco!
Luke, I am your flotation device.
As kids growing up in outer space, both Darth and Luke were occasional hitchhikers in the galaxy, and both know -- and here prove -- the importance of the towel....
I would love to see 2 Jedis fighting underwater. Imagie them leaping in the air, capes flowing behind them. And if one gets their arm cut off, no messy cleanup!
My son birthday is in august.
And he has lots of star wars figurines.
Maybe i shouldn't have seen this post. It is Epic. And i happened to have a " half vader" figurine to put on a cake, where i could recreate vader in the water. Too many ideas!
Are the sides of the cake black and red?? Worst icing colors ever, especially for kids!
Polo
At least there are no sharks. At least not that we can see O.O
I really hate when work gets in the way of my CW fun!
@mel ~ You're kinda awesome. You know that right?
At least Luke was thinking ahead! If his raft pops, he can still get away on his surfboard.
Darth, on the other hand, is looking as handsome as ever.
=^-.-^=
Backstory, puuuuu-leeez?! :-) This pool cake was deliberate - inquiring minds want to know...WHY?! Childhood memories of recreating scenes from Star Wars Ep 5 or Ep 6 whilst having a dip in the pool? An aquatic version of Eps 5 or 6? A Star Wars-themed version of the Wipeout TV show?! I'm DYING HERE!!!*
*Ok, I'm not - I'd just really, really, like to know... :-)
"If only you knew
the power of the Deep Side!"
Pool noodles thwack
Polo!
*lighsaber swooshy sound*
@ emmyn:
I'm happy for you, but I also don't get why someone would need a "half" Vader (or half ANYone) to begin with. Just shove 'em into the cake half way (ta-da!). Then afterwards, the kid has a whole figurine to play with, instead of some poor guy with no legs.
=^e.e^=
OMG Haiku Joy you are hysterical XD XD
I sense great fear in you, Skywalker. You have water wings... you have lifesavers... but you don't use them.
The theme for this eludes me. Margaret
I agree though with Margaret... the theme eludes me too.Diana C

Okay, then : that's two elusions , so far. Do I hear a third? (No, eluding an officer of the law in a high-speed chase doesn't count. Might make a great cake, though!)
¡Ay, caramba! Doesn't get much better than this.... =^>.<^=
Darth: "Ahhh...Luke...I think a towel AND a surfboard is cheating....."
@Haiku joy: "...power of the Deep Side " = mucho giggles on THIS side! =^~.~^=
I must admit this would have been perfect for my son's party a few years ago. Pool party for 8 yr olds and I made pool noodle light sabers (half noodles with duct tape handles) for all of them.
It'd make more sense to have pre-injury Vader versus Obi-Wan here.
Polo!
I needed this laugh on a day when I am feeling seriuosly unbalanced due to back pain. (No, NOT mental health issues!) This one is just a mind-boggling mess!
Ok, why is it that, as a Star Wars/Hitchhiker's/Sci-Fi aficinado, my mind was blank except for "Where's the backstory?!" and everybody else (SueBee, Tia, DB, Danny, Haiku Joy, mel, Sir Laffsalot, zoomom, etc.) came up with such GOOD comments?! Lord, please, please, PLEASE tell me I am not suffering early-onset dementia...!
(On the flip side, everyone's comments have me laughing hard enough to nearly knock me outta my chair... :-)
I made something eerily similar to this cake for my own son (*not one of my better creations*) but he loved it. He wanted a "Star Wars" meets "Wipe Out" cake. For a 7 yr old, they are two of the most epic things in the world, so why not combine them on a birthday cake?
@Karate Lady-You need to rest your awesomeness once in a while. Otherwise it stops working.
Now sit back, close your eyes and relax. You can be awesome again tomorrow.
I loved this scene when Vader and Luke fought while floating on pieces of bantha bacon.
I loved this scene when Vader and Luke fought while floating on pieces of bantha bacon.
@TLC - Sorry your back is hurting you! Hope you feel better soon! Rest well & be sure to take your pain meds/ meditate/whatever works for you! :-/
Sometimes I really REALLY need to know the details behind the conception...
@Jodee: nah...just a guy havin' fun....
@Haiku joy: lol...
@TLC: oh...no...hope you're feeling better!
@KarateLady: I agree with Anonynom...
So long and thanks for all the Sith??
Well all Luke would have to do is force push Vader into the water and then the fight is over lol. Ahh the joys of loving Star Wars. Whoever ordered this cake must have had a fun party planned. I kind of liked it hehe.
...and sometimes it's really REALLY better not to know. =^-,-^=
Some things are just as enjoyable the second time around - I'd forgotten about this one. Love the squeaks.
I want this cake.
@Barbara Anne: well done!
I don't think playing with light sabers on water can be safe.
@Joan - Party Pool-per... :-)
hahaha this was great...; D
