What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Awww... WAIT.

Someone somewhere is just now saying, "Heeeeey..."

Thanks to Laika T. for the best passive-aggressive compliment since "Way to go, Bob."

Sung to "Let Me Call You Sweetheart"

Let me call you Stupid
Like I like to do
Let me hear you whimper
When you hear it, too.
Resentment is glowing
In your eyes so blue
Let me call you Stupid
Like I like to do.

Shoot, I'd say it takes a big nerve (AND a small mind, while we're at it) to send that cake to anyone! The dolphin/porpoise thingy is kind of cute, though, in a goofy way. (At least, he's/she's trying...!) =^e.e^=

❤ Just WHAT were they thinking? Can we know what the occasion was?❤

I'd like to order about 5 of these, please.

Um, that grey banana has some odd growths/spots on it...

Actually I believe it was a message for elementary teachers, I have seen similar sayings before.

[Editor's note- Yup. But there's a big difference between little minds and small minds. On a completely unrelated note, every time I say "Yup", I feel like I sound like Big Macintosh from My Little Pony. :) -john]

Maybe it's self-deprecating.

It's okay. Weird Hunchback Dolphin is here for you.

This reminds me of the fire deer cake only with a dolphin XD

November 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKathryn

Just wondering, what is the porpoise of this....?
@Sharyn: lol...

November 8, 2013 | Unregistered Commentermel

"Big Macintosh from My Little Pony", huh? I HAD to go and You Tube it.... It's only a teensy bit extremely annoying. ((When will I learn?! Curiosity killed the cat, indeed...)) =^+.+^=

Reminds of the time I watched a middle school girl giving a Father's Day tribute, trying to say that her dad was really smart but didn't show off about it...by saying that he was "a man of modest intelligence."

It was for a teacher. Has to be.

@Julie: Hilarious!!

@BADKarma, thanks for the Day of the Dolphin reference! Does that mean I'm not the only one that squeals Faaaaaaaaa whenever I see a dolphin?

It takes an ocean
to drown all the reasons why
this cake is awesome.

It's like that old saw:
A mind, a terrible thing.
Faint, heart! Never win.

@KSLSRocks~ Thanks, now I only see a weird banana o.O

@Sharyn ~ Hahahahahahaha

small vs. little They mean the same in many instances. This, however, is not one of them.

@john(thoJ) ~ I'm slightly worried that you even know who Big Macintosh is O.O (but then I remembered that you're married to Jen so it's okay!) :-)

November 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJodee

I love you thoJ and I love your love for Big Macintosh!

It reminds me of the time when I was six that my teacher asked us to describe our family, and I, trying to be accurate, described my father, who has very fine, flyaway hair, as having "hair that looked as if it were trying to get away from him."

Completely true. I am 43 now, and I will never hear the end of this until the day I die.

I hope this was used in a passive aggressive way toward terrible parents from teachers! Maybe there was a different cake for the good parents and the nasty ones were given a piece of this one. I choose to accept this as reality.

November 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLori

Not only do they insult someone but they send a shark/dolphin combo after them lol. Ahh I really wish we knew the occasion for this thing.

November 9, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterArlene

@BADkarma FOR.THE.WIN. OMG I always think of that movie when there's something weird about a dolphin picture on the net. :D

So, am I going to have to give in and watch an episode of My Little Pony? (sigh) the things peer pressure leads to on this site.

I think "young minds" would have been a better choice of words. Reminds me of the saying-The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter--it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning (Mark Twain).

(Stop me if you've *heard* this already): a little wedding confection that is head and shoulders above the rest--well, make that "heads above", anyway:

@sandy - I think you deserve kudos for the most Far Sidesque comment! :-)

@john(thoj) - My daughter totally cracked up when I told her what you said! She is my MLP wikipedia. I can count on her to explain just about anything MLP, including Bronies...she even told me there's Bronies in the armed forces! Wow, whodathunkit? Big manly fighters spending their spare time sitting around watching MLP! :-) (Hey, if it makes 'em happy, more power to them for breaking the manly stereotype, right? Bronies untie! Uh, unite! :-)

November 9, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKarate Lady

Oh that's awesome. I'm going to use that on people I don't like and see if they get they're being insulted.
