What's a Wreck?
A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

I think we quoted that in my family before we even got out of the theater! It still gets bandied about periodically. A close runner up is "say something like a sissy boy" from "Zorro the Gay Blade" which is almost as funny as "Young Frankenstein" and just as quotable.
Now, it's time to put a miserably stinky week to bed and to try and forget it ever existed- except for the most amazing posts and comments!!! I think this week's been amazing.

@mindy1, my close friend's infant son was diagnosed with cancer earlier this month and passed away Wednesday. I travelled today to his visitation.
Just when I think I have seen it all.. Princess Leia covered in sprinkles as a CCC.. eeeeek lol. Truly they have out done themselves this time. My goodness these cake wreck alikes are way too good lol. Good for my laughter to go into high gear that is.
Got to the Broomhilde cake and died laughing. Best mash-up evar.

@ Haiku Joy - Sorry I'm late with my condolences. I was busy somewhat the last two days. About all I can say is: what everyone else said, particularly mel. I can only imagine what you & your friend must feel. I agree with mel - y'all are not alone. Wish I could be there for you & your friend. I know she's lucky to have you there @ this difficult time.
