A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

I would have had to have someone else type that for me. I couldn't purposely misspell like that. You'd think bakers would at least have to be out of grade school, unless they've lowered the age for working children???

I have seen all the mistakes in Jen's post, some at the hand of the upper managers at work. I can't tell you how many times I've seen aisle written as isle. So Gilligan lives here? And the random non-essential capitalization made me laugh. People do that, too, or just write in all caps for no reason.
Oh, good grief. "Back to school, so you can learn how to spell and correct these mistakes before you can eat the cake." Only practical application I can think of...
SuBee and Sharyn, that's funny that you both chose the same song. I really thought you were taking it away, Sharyn, especially when you both used the same first line and referenced the spell czech. Talk about being on the same wavelength!

My brain tried reaaaally hard to make sense of this cake. It came up with an assignment/test: "Imagine (with the 'e' hiding behind the blue Crayons) & Draw A chive". Once you correctly draw a chive, you get a slice of cake! (Yes, I know that's not even close to Draw, but my brain would not accept Draem).

Even with all the words spelled correctly, that is the most unimaginative, uninspiring, depressing cake ever. I bet Charlie Brown would buy that cake. I'm just waiting for Linus to wrap his blue blanket around it and the rest of the gang to put Snoopy's decorations on it to make it beautiful.

I'm relieved (?) you spelled it out, Jen, because I can usually figure out what the wreckerator was going for, horrible as it is. (I'm fairly good at puzzles, and some of these are REALLY good ones.) But this one defied me, and stuck out its misspelled tongue at me. How do you look at this cake and say, "Yeah, that's a good one", anyway?
Imagine what dreams this person could achieve if they had an actual education. My question is, do these bakeries have managers? Can THEY spell? Also, why are the two blue crayons apparently mating? Why would this be in a display case?? Why, why? *wanders off muttering*

Unfortunately I was able to read this without much difficulty. My oldest has a form of dyslexia and for years she just spelled things the way they sounded. Still does sometimes. I've become a fairly decent speller (usually) because I'm always being asked "Mom, how do you spell..." I have yet to convince either of my children that DRAW doesn't have an "L" in it!!!
However, that being said, Sharyn's song still hurt my brain. Funny in a sad sad way. And your spell checker isn't the only one who wet itself O_O

Just finished 3 nonstop hours of editing. Have about 3 or 4 more hours to go tonight.
I have edited documents that have 25+ contributors or more. And never, ever have I seen anything so terrible, spellcheck or no.
Did somebody really buy this? I would buy this and take it to a school or preschool so they could have a spelling bee, and the winner would get to eat the cake or smash all the mistakes.
SuBee and Sharyn, it has long been known that women who share close quarters will experience a sychronization of their cycles; it seems that you have demonstrated what happens when we regularly enjoy the same blog. I think this phenomena requires a name. Perhaps "Sychronous Parodization"?
