Cool Character Sweets
February 7, 2010 What better way to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday than with some cool character sweets? (I know. That doesn't really make sense. Go with me here.)

I wasn't sure if these cakes were wrecks or not. The first two raised questions. Kung Fu Panda's leg is bent in the wrong direction and Homer looks like he has a bad case of flatulance. But the other cakes were more convincing that this was an entry of actual class. Especially with Eeore [sic] and Stewey. Well done bakers on those ones. And the Snoopy one too, that was cute albeit disproportionate.
I made the Snoopy Red Baron cake, and yes I did get the quotation wrong, but I didn't realise until after it was done, and as it was a long running joke with a friend who also has misquoted Snoopy for as long as I have known him, I didn't change it.

I want that Sweetums cake for my birthday! He was one of my favorite Muppets when I was a kid (along with Bean, Robin, and Kermit).
Bahaha! The panda's pose is the same as my cat's when he's cleaning himself, ahem, *there*.
These were great, especially Eeyore!!
The only thing is that Snoopy doesn't swear.

Oh, Jen and John. I have been reading your blog for quite some time, and must say, as a fellow red pencil geek, I do laugh at all of the spelling errors. But now, I must point out that you have one.
It's Stewie you imbociles (as Stewie himself would say). LOL :) Keep up the good "work".
Awe! I want the Snoopy and/or Eeyore cake! My birthday is St. Patrick's Day, someone should remind my friends.

While these are all lovely and well done cakes, I have to cringe looking at them--how many copyright laws are being broken here?
I love Eeyore. That is one great cake.
I love the Sweetums cake, but I wish the nose had been smoothed out better. Nothing ruins good-looking food faster than a blatant reminder that it's had hands all over it while in preparation!
Especially if those hands were squishing away at it... :P
That Sweetums cake could have turned into a wreck so easily.

Congratulations to Fran, maker of the Snoopy cake, for the proper use of quotation marks, even though the quote itself was wrong.

I thought the Muppets one was supposed to be Chewbacca. And when I saw the Eeyore one, I was like, "That's a cake?!" Very cartoon-realistic.
