What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

When Evil Commercial Fishermen Marry

All that's missing is a little icing net draped over the guys at the bottom - and is that a pool of monochromatic blood? Creeeepy.

Those aren't fish - they look like dolphins!! Ick!

Wow, if the cake was blue instead of brown, my cousin would totally dig that. She loves anything with dolphins on it!

It sort of looks like the ones at the top are spawning.

Why is the cake brown and the dolphins bleached white? Have they washed up on the beach? *shudder*

August 13, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSunrunner

Just keep telling yourself that they're not dolphins. They're slugs!

Yeah. That's the ticket!

My immediate thought upon seeing that was "It's a dolphin orgy!"

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Rofl

The strangest part to me is that the cake is otherwise decorationless. No roses, no sprinkles, not even any multicolored squiggles. Just a dogpile of flaccid albino porpoises. Double you tee eff?

"dogpile of flaccid albino porpoises"
BWAHAHAHAAAA!!!

Really tho, you can tell that they made them in a mold, out of white chocolate...but didn't have the time o'day to smooth off the seams or even place them on the cake nicely.

This is what happens when brides are allowed to pick out the decorative elements a la carte.

oh my flying spaghetti monster..the fish/dolphins look like something foetal you'd find floating in a jar of formaldehyde O.o

Dead and dying white chocolate dolphins on a chocolate buttercream-frosted chocolate cake does not a wedding cake make. I'd rather have modeling chocolate roadkill (at least it gives it color) on my mine than that monstrosity! Ick!

Pile O' dead dolphins,,,,yummy! not!

August 18, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterlori

Haha, I thought dolphin orgy too! There's something just plain awkward about those dolphins...

August 24, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterFlick

It really does look like a pile of dead dolphins/porpoises falling off of a cake.

WHY?

August 25, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKarenInSacramento

I... I would LOVE to see the backstory behind this cake. Does anyone reading this know? Because I am so confused right now.
