What's a Wreck?
A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Pickles. Oy. Perhaps it's an ice cream cake. That would explain why there's no naked mohawk baby -- it hasn't arrived yet. I must say I'm glad the wreckorator didn't attempt the baby.
That said, my initial impression was that someone had 'reimagined' the Chili's logo.
@Loo-E Loo-I, don't mess with Gossamer; a lot of people might be offended, and we don't want that, now, do we. I just now ventured out of the bunker myself.

My hubby took one look at the photo and said "Hm, carrot cake. What's wrong with that?"
Did I mention he'll eat just about anything? And yes, even a cake with Elmo's toe-fungus covered foot on it. (He's been hardened over the years by my "cooking".)

The only possible way that could be a carrot is if it's the carrot that morphed into the monster in the original, 1950's version of "The Thing", starring a very young James Arness... O_o

First of all, I think the cake looks like a some sort of pressed rice circle. Maybe rice pudding that has been allowed to harden in the sun?
The "carrot" is obviously deviled ham garnished with green beans. Or pickles. Or something else I am obviously NOT going to eat. Ever.

I once decorated a carrot cake with real carrots. the recipient deserved it, he truly did. NEVER mouth off to the person baking your birthday cake. I'm sure he's never forgotten.
Thanks for starting that drive! I thought it was a terrific idea and a great way for those of us with limited philanthropic resources to band together and do something great. This post proves what a good idea it is. You continue to impress me!
