What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

FIBER!!

To quote Bill Cosby: "Thebere ibis uh fiber in mah mabouth!"

At least, I *think* that's what's happening here.

More specifically: a squirrel with his ears on fire.

But then, I always get off to a Rocky start on Mondays.

Thanks to Jeff G., whose bottom lip is on the floor. I'll take that as a compliment.

I just keep turning my head from side to side and squinting my eyes and blinking.... But I cannot for the life of me figure out what that is supposed to be!

If someone wanted to make a Bill Cosby cake, I personally would love to see a Chicken Heart cake....

He also did a sketch about feeding his kids chocolate cake for breakfast.... One of my favorites! His stand-up comedy was pure genius.

On another note, the cake....

It is obviously a post-modern interpretation of the "cake" as a pop-culture icon, but deconstructed and reassembled to express the primal chaotic beginnings of the emotions cake bring out in us. The "traditional" sticker is an ironic statement of what our society considers traditional, and any passing resemblance to a cartoon character or campfire is obviously a projection of your subconscious childhood patterning.

It is the epitome of expressive genius.

Obviously.

With the Cosby reference leading that post, my first thought was that it looked like a Cosby Sweater CCC. You know, crazy patterned color sweater on top, brown pants on the bottom, sort of? maybe?

While the comments have provided some creative ideas, I still have NO IDEA what the heck this is supposed to be. I think if you take a pic like this to send to Cake Wrecks, you are morally obligated to bite the inside of your cheek hard enough to control your laughter, and ask someone in the bakery department for an explanation, so we can all know for sure the exact level of insanity the wreck represents.

My first coherent thought was that this is supposed to be DJ Lance from Yo Gabba Gabba...? Oh yeah, looks JUST like him ;)
Seriously though... weird.

I love this one so much. Specifically the "squirrel with its ears on fire" bit. Why? Because when I was in England, I got involved with a role playing group, and my character was essentially a squirrel-person. And at one significant point, her head was very much on fire. I'm not kidding. Flaming squirrel. It was hilarious.

And it's captured PERFECTLY in this wreck. :D

My wip is on da flobor!! You have no idea how much joy this brings me. My family has spent the last 25 yrs periodically and irrationally shouting "FIBER!" at one another. I knew I loved you.

"Mby fabse habe meblteb ob anb mby wip ib on dby fbooa."

Clearly, this is an attempt at expressing the same sort of sentiment - "My face has melted off and my lip is on the floor." The orange-and-yellow amorphous mass is clearly a fire, and the odd-looking brown blob at the bottom is a representation of melted facial skin - a truly horrifying concept executed in the already-horrifying medium of the CCC. XD

Seriously, though - it does look like something is on fire. In fact, the fire itself is very well-executed. Now if only we could figure out what is intended to be burning... XD
