What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

It's Heee-eeere!

(All together, now!)

Itttt's beeee-ginning to look a lot like Christmas!

CHRISTMAS.

Eeev'rywhere you "go!"

[ew]

Take a look at the zombie 'men

Slavering once again

With candy cane intestines, oh ho ho!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

CHRISTMAS!!

Saaaanta seals your doom

But the scariest sight to see

Is the gingerbread crazy

Waiting iiinnn yoooour room!

"Hi, kids! Who's ready for a slay ride?"

Thanks to Marsha M., Kathy H., Bethany S., Michelle T., Crystal, Ashley H., & Anony M. for sharing the holiday "spirit." Now, somebody hold me.

I'm pretty sure all of those guys were characters on Game of Thrones this season.

I think the scariest thing is that somehow that last one has a sell by date of january. Um, what did they put in it to make it stay okay to eat for three weeks?

"edible evil sprinkled with nightmares..." Love it!!!! :P

I, too, saw Spock in the elf hat!! :) And how hard is it to pipe red icing over those monstrous candy canes? It couldn't look any worse than that slap-dash airbrushing job. Did the wreckorator have a seizure while spraying?

One good thing since I've become a fan of cake wrecks, my desire to eat cakes, cupcakes and cookies has been diminished drastically. Thank you for helping me stick to my diet!

I just finished baking a batch of gingerbread boys (and girls) and was disappointed in the way they turned out. However, after seeing the CCC I am willing to reassess the matter.
I am no longer sure if the US will be destroyed first by politicians or by pastry.

Hey, was that Yoda the Elf? And y'all are right--that evil zombie gingerbread woman in the unflattering bikini was totally nightmare-inducing!

If you turn it upside-down, Cake #5 (a.k.a. Creepy the Elf) looks like a turkey cake that didn't sell last month, so someone got creative. Might also explain the greenish tint.

On the last one, the thing that scared me the most was the price: $14.99!!!! YIKES!

My band concert is tomorrow night. The final song we are performing is sleigh ride. 10 min. ago I was nervous because it's fairly difficult. Now I'm even more scared. I don't want sleigh ride to become slay ride! Oh, I'm so nervous... and wondering if these cakes were made by color-blind monkeys.

oh my. oh my. I will be afraid to sleep tonight with the vision of that gingerbread man in my head.

I looked at the first one, saw the cross between 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and 'Hannibal', thought, "So far so good -- this is Cake Wrecks, after all." Then the universe shifted and I saw what I think the wreckerator intended: a truncated Christmas tree with a Santa cap and a face. Is that akin to flunking a Rorschach test, a sign of the Apocalypse, or both?

Was that a Spock elf cake? The last cake is creepy it looks like my family member ....oh never mind.

I yelled at the last one.... Brilliant as always Ms. Jen :)

OK, am i the only one who thinks the g-man is kind of cute??? Also, that's not Oscar, it's a Christmas tree, note the tinsel swirled around it's branchy-ness. The thing on the top, i believe is a giant s**t as in, "who put all of that s**t on the tree" (we've all heard it, come on)< LOL>

so where did I get hung up on this post? the bra comments. I thought "I didn't see a bra" so I went back to look. then I thought "my breasts don't look like that." then it occurred to me I'm gauging a CCC against my own physique...now THAT's the stuff of nightmares, peeps.

Hahaha! That first one reminds me of Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba.

Hahaha "Who's ready for a slay ride?" just makes me think of the terribly awesome movie, Santa's Slay, starring WCW wrestler Bill Goldberg as a murderous santa keen on revenge. No. Seriously. I'm not kidding it. Google it asap. You can thank me later.
